Guangdong Chimelong Philanthropic Foundation (GCPF) has consistently positioned itself at the forefront of wildlife conservation efforts. With a donation of over 145 million RMB (ca. 20 million USD) and a steadfast commitment to exploring the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, we diligently contribute Chinese insights and expertise to the global cause of biodiversity conservation.
We cherish and care for every life on Earth. By establishing a top-tier veterinary medical rescue facility and assembling an expert team, we have successfully rescued and released over 14,000 wild animals, dedicating ourselves to restoring ecological balance.
Drawing upon our extensive medical experience, we have established a state-of-the-art integrated animal hospital, assembled an exceptional team of medical professionals, and pioneered the application of CT technology in wildlife rescue, successfully aiding and safeguarding endangered species.
We are leading the way in setting standards for marine animal rescue technologies. With a team of experts specializing in aquatic animal rescue, we have successfully saved Chinese white dolphins and other critically endangered species.
We have built the largest avian conservation database in China and supported migratory bird protection, successfully rescuing nationally protected bird species. As passionate contributors to the ecological conservation of the Silk Road, we have dedicated special funds for bird conservation in "Belt and Road" countries.
We play a leading role in promoting the Chimelong model and sharing our conservation expertise at the Conference on the Administration of Import and Export of Fauna and Flora and the Workshop on CITES and Livelihoods. Through partnerships with over 50 countries, we work together to protect rare and endangered species.
Reintroducing South China Tiger
We have established “Qingyuan Chimelong South China Tiger Rehabilitation and Release Base” and are actively involved in the development of Nanling National Park, playing an instrumental role in advancing China's mission of reintroducing these majestic creatures back into their natural habitat.
Rescue&releasing Snow Leopard
The Wildlife Rescue Center in Xizang, donated and built by Chimelong, is committed to the rescue and reintroduction of snow leopards, offering a vital sanctuary for these rare and precious creatures.
Reintroduction Sika Deer
Through our pioneering efforts in reintroduction, these magnificent creatures are allowed to elevate their prowess for survival in the great outdoors. By expanding their presence across a wider landscape, we not only bolster the sika deer population but also ignite a symphony of biodiversity that harmonizes with the delicate balance of our ecosystems.
Effect of Eurasian Eagle-Owl Wilderness Training
Listed as a rare species in the China Red Data Book of Endangered Animals: Aves, our wilderness training promotes its overall health and effectively mitigates the negative effects of excessive weight gain on the bird’s well-being.
Rescue and Release of the White-Eared Night Heron
Listed as one of the 30 most endangered birds in the world, the white-eared night heron is incredibly rare and often referred to as "the most mysterious bird in the world."
The Release of Guangdong's Silver Pheasants
Following the successful conservation of the silver pheasant population, we assessed their wilderness survival abilities. Each pheasant was implanted with a tracking microchip, allowing us to monitor their progress and ensure their well-being in real-time.
Rescue and Release of Komodo Dragons
We support the Taman Safari Indonesia in its efforts to protect biodiversity, successfully assisting in the release of four Komodo dragons back into their natural habitat on Komodo Island.
Rescue of the Green Sea Turtle
The Chimelong Herpetology Research Center participated in the rescue and release of an injured and stranded green sea turtle.
Conservation and Release of Chinese Crocodile Lizard
In 2019, we partnered with the National Forestry and Grassland Administration to launch a release project with a 200,000 RMB investment. This funding has enabled significant progress in artificial breeding and genetic diversity of Chinese crocodile lizards.
Guangdong's First Successful Rescue and Rehabilitation of a Stranded Rough-Toothed Dolphin
The rough-toothed dolphin is a national second-class protected animal. Globally, there is limited research on the rescue of stranded cetaceans, and their recovery rate remains low, making each successful rescue even more critical for the species' survival.
Wild Cetacean Rescue Program
Our pioneering Cetacean Rescue Program in China marks a milestone in marine conservation. With successful partnerships with Shenzhen, Zhuhai, and Jiangmen governments, we have developed a comprehensive cetacean rescue and rehabilitation program.
Breeding, Feralizing, and Restoring Coral
Coral reefs are the lifeblood of our oceans. They uphold marine biodiversity, provide critical habitats, and maintain the delicate equilibrium of our marine ecosystems. Recognizing the vital role that coral plays, we have embarked on an ambitious mis
With unwavering commitment, we are enhancing our efforts to protect biodiversity. As leaders in wildlife protection research, we are dedicated to pioneering innovative solutions and strategies that usher in a new era of animal conservation.
We are proud to be at the forefront of
wildlife conservation. We have developed a groundbreaking model that integrates
scientific research, popular education, and cultural tourism. Our innovative
approach sets us apart as leaders in the field, and we are dedicated to
collaborating with compassionate individuals who share our vision. By fostering
a deep connection between people and nature, we are building a future where
coexistence and harmony become the norm.
Our foundation's chairman had the honor of
being invited to the Fifteenth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP
15) to the Convention on Biological Diversity in Kunming. His presence at the
conference was marked by a remarkable keynote speech that left a lasting
impression on the audience. Through his words, he passionately expressed a deep
love for ecology and emphasized the inherent value of all living beings,
setting an inspiring example of biodiversity conservation in China. Let us
stand united, driven by a shared sense of responsibility and a deep
appreciation for the wonders of our natural world. Together, we can forge a
path towards a future where all creatures thrive in a brighter and more
sustainable world.
Scientific research serves as the cornerstone
of our endeavors in wildlife conservation. To extend the reach and impact of
our discoveries, we proactively promote the publication and dissemination of
our research results. However, our mission goes beyond the realm of academia.
We strive to translate our research findings into real-world applications that
bring about tangible changes in the field of wildlife conservation. Together,
let us ignite sparks of inspiration, illuminate the path toward a hopeful
future, and protect the priceless treasures of our environment.
Embracing the fundamental principles of
"Cognition, Exploration, Discovery, and Sharing," we have established
a robust biodiversity science education system that spans terrestrial, aquatic,
and aerial realms. We have successfully reached out to more than 300 million
individuals, instilling a profound appreciation for biodiversity conservation
in their hearts.
We are always steadfast action-takers when
it comes to bringing science education to schools. We firmly believe in the
effectiveness of interactive, immersive, experiential, and situated learning.
Our ultimate goal is to empower students to become advocates for ecological
harmony and champions of sustainable practices.
Just as the sun is rays nurture life, our program cultivates resilience, creativity, and joy in every child we serve, transforming obstacles into stepping stones for their triumphs.
Utilizing a diverse array of communication
