Reintroducing South China Tiger
Time:2022-05-17Click:1623

As a distinct subspecies indigenous to our country, the South China tiger's population has sadly vanished from the wild. However, Chimelong has taken up the mantle of responsibility, collaborating with the National Forestry and Grassland Administration to realize their vision. In 2015, we made a significant investment of millions of yuan to establish the sprawling 6,000-acre Qingyuan Chimelong South China Tiger Rehabilitation and Release Base in the mountainous region surrounding Qingyuan City. This cutting-edge facility serves as a sanctuary where the growth, development, and social behavior of the South China tigers are meticulously documented in real time. Through our dedication and expertise, these magnificent creatures have achieved remarkable milestones, such as successfully hunting wild prey like wild boars and deer, and breeding tiger cubs. Our efforts have propelled the field of ex-situ conservation and training for the South China tiger to new heights. We are actively involved in the establishment of the Nanling National Park, playing an instrumental role in advancing China's mission of reintroducing these majestic creatures back into their natural habitat.
