Opened to the public in June 2004, Guangzhou Chimelong Safari Park serves as a crucial conservation base for rare avian, amphibian, and reptilian species in South China. The park has made significant contributions to wildlife conservation, including the successful breeding of the critically endangered Crested Ibis, a national treasure once reduced to a global population of only seven individuals. Today, the park has established a thriving population of over 150 individuals. By creating simulated natural habitats and constructing wetlands, the park has successfully bred over 11,000 individuals of more than 300 rare bird, amphibian, and reptile species from around the world.
